We may also collect basic technical information from website visits, forms, security tools, analytics, and server logs, such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and usage events.

   We use information to respond to requests, provide scans and consulting services, evaluate consent and tracking behavior, operate and improve the website, protect against spam or abuse, maintain security, and communicate about relevant services. We do not use submitted scan details to build consumer marketing lists for third parties.

   Our website and service providers may use cookies, logs, analytics, security tools, and similar technologies to operate forms, measure site performance, understand usage, and protect the website. We use Google Analytics only with your permission: no analytics or advertising cookies are set until you choose in our cookie banner. Before that, Google receives only cookieless, anonymous signals (Google Consent Mode). We store your choice in a first-party cookie named mc_consent for 180 days, honor Global Privacy Control as an opt-out of advertising, and you can change your choice any time with Cookie Settings in the site footer.

   Free scan and reports

   When you request a free scan, we collect your email address and the website URL you submit. Our automated browser then visits that public website and records cookies, scripts, network requests, and consent behavior. We email you the report using our email delivery provider, Resend. Each report is available at a unique link that anyone with the link can open, so share it only with people you trust. We keep scan requests and reports until you ask us to delete them; to do so, email hello@modeconsent.com with the report link.

   Retention and security

   We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including service delivery, business records, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

   California privacy rights

   California residents may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about certain disclosures, depending on the law that applies to ModeConsent and the information involved.
